The Town Council elects a Mayor and Deputy Mayor at its Annual Meeting. Meetings of the Council are chaired by the Mayor, assisted by the Deputy Mayor in accordance with standing orders.

For the year 2012/2013 the Town Mayor,           Cllr Jocelyn Towns has been re-elected as has the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Suzanne Brown.
