Carols on the Causeway
This popular pre Christmas event was held in Marlow on 15th December around the town’s impressive Christmas tree on the Causeway.
Father Christmas was in his grotto and was visited by many children and given Christmas chocolates provided by Marlow Town Council. They also posted their entries for the Marlow Town Council Colouring Competition.
Large crowds gathered to sing carols with Town Mayor, Cllr Neil Marshall, Councillors and Town Council staff, accompanied by Marlow Town Band, Great Marlow School Choir and their music teacher, Andrew Stopps.
Burgers of Marlow provided mince pies and the George and Dragon provided mulled wine to the carollers. The Rotary Club of Marlow were in attendance with their Hot Chestnut stall, which proved very popular.
After the event the Town Mayor judged the colouring competition and prizes to the winners distributed after Christmas.
The Town Council would like to thank Burgers, The George and Dragon, The Rotary Club of Marlow, Marlow Town Band and Great Marlow Choir for taking part and making this event such a success.
Over £200 was collected at the event for the Mayor’s chosen charities, The British Heart Foundation and Active Hearts. Thank you to all those who contributed so generously.
