The Town Council hold a New Year Luncheon every year, usually at Great Marlow School, Bobmore Lane for approx 150 of its senior citizen residents of Marlow.
This year due to extensive building work being carried out at Great Marlow School, the lunch was held in The Higginson Room, Court Garden House.
Town Mayor, Cllr Richard Scott and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Neil Marshall joined their guests for an excellent three course meal.
During coffee each guest was given a free raffle ticket for a chance to win one of the lovely prizes provided by Marlow Town Council.
Thanks go to Westside Fruit Ltd of Booker for providing the star prize of a wonderful fruit hamper.
Additional thanks go to Waitrose, who once again sponsored this event by providing the vouchers to purchase gifts.
Guests were then entertained after lunch by members of the Marlow Operatic Society singing a medley of Rodgers and Hammerstein and Andrew Lloyd Webber songs.
Each guest left at the end of the afternoon with a small gift.
This is an important event for the elderly and is well supported.
In many cases this is one of the few times that they can get together with friends and make new ones.
